GdS: ‘Things could be different’ – Barcelona mentioned as Leao approaches important summer

Rafael Leao is having another up and down season for AC Milan, and there is reportedly a chance that it could be his last at the club.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport has an article which is centred around the idea that Milan wish to keep Joao Felix and that in order to fund a permanent move for him they are willing to part with Theo Hernandez.

However, the final paragraph is titled ‘the truth about Leao’ and adds that while the contractual situation is different for the winger compared to Theo (who will have 12 months left on his deal when June arrives) there are similarities in terms of the form they are in.

Leao’s performances have certainly better than that of the Frenchman, but the Portuguese alternates great performances like the ones against Real Madrid and in the Supercoppa Italiana final with disappointing evenings like against Dinamo Zagreb or Feyenoord.

A club from Qatar came in for him in the winter, and they would have showered him with money, but Leao said no because he feels a strong attachment to the club and to Milano as a city.

At the end of the season, however, ‘things could be different’. In the event of an offer from Barcelona or another top club, the scenario will have to be re-evaluated, especially if Joao Felix remains front and centre.

  1. Amazing how once Maldini was sacked, our top players form dipped incredibly.

Still was and is the dumbest thing this ownership group could do.

    1. They came to play for their legend and the club he represented. That’s no longer the case and there is no legend to play for either. I’d have loved if Ibra could be that guy, but it seems he represents American capitalism more then club values. I’d love to see Milan return to that family oriented club again. I guess those players are not feeling that anymore.

  2. Raphinha needs a backup to give him a breather now and again. Leao should be able to fill that role since he only performs now and again
