Matteo Moretto has moved to pour cold water on the rumours linking AC Milan with a move for Barcelona defender Gerard Martin.

Over the weekend, links with Gerard Martin resurfaced, a defender that had been linked in previous windows. Catalan source El Nacional spoke of an offer of €35m being readied by the Rossoneri hierarchy for a player who has even earned a Paolo Maldini-inspired nickname.
Moretto: Martin wants Barcelona stay
In a video published on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, Matteo Moretto responded to the rumours about Martin being a Milan target. MilanNews have transcribed his words.
“I can tell you that as of today, there’s nothing between Milan and Gerard Martin. Furthermore, I can tell you that the player’s desire remains to stay at Barcelona. Flick doesn’t want Martin to leave Barcelona,” he said.
“Of course, if a significant offer arrives, the club might even consider it, but as of today, the intention is for Gerard Martin to stay at Barça, and I can even tell you that both parties are fully committed to extending the player’s contract, which expires in 2028.”
