Barcelona president strongly hints deals for Milan and Chelsea duo are ‘completed’

Joan Laporta has basically confirmed that Franck Kessie will be joining them on a free transfer once his contract at AC Milan expires.

There has been a lot of speculation that Kessié has agreed a deal to join the Catalan club ahead of the 2022-23 season and Laporta spoke to RAC1 about Barcelona’s plans for the future, during which he essentially confirmed the Ivorian will arrive as well as Chelsea’s Andreas Christensen, even though he stated that he couldn’t give names specifically.

“We’ve completed two signings for the next season: one is a midfielder, the other one is a centre-back. But I’m not allowed to mention their names, I’m so sorry,” he said (via Fabrizio Romano).

Kessié and Christensen’s contracts with Milan and Chelsea expire at the end of the season so they can join on free transfers. Romano gave his famous ‘here we go’ last week and claimed that after a verbal agreement was reached between Kessie’s entourage and Barcelona a few days ago, the Ivorian has now officially signed as new Blaugrana player.

He added that the 25-year-old has penned a deal until June 2026 meaning it will be a four-year deal for him, and he will receive €6.5m net salary plus add-ons. His medical has already been completed ahead of the move.
