Rossoneri legend Franco Baresi is very impressed with this youthful Milan team. The former captain thinks this weekend will be crucial.
Baresi, who famously wore the number six jersey at Milan spoke to the press at a Fondazione Milan event on Tuesday.
“Mario Balotelli is an important asset, he plays for Milan and therefore they need to get the best out of him.”
“The team plays well now and has its own identity. It’s a shame they dropped two points against Udinese on Sunday, but must always have important aims.”
Franco then spoke about the significance of Sunday’s match against Genoa at the San Siro. Kickoff is at 12:30 CET.
“Sunday is extremely important to get all the players back in shape, because they cannot afford to drop any more points. There’s a head-to-head match (Fiorentina-Inter) and Milan must make the most of these opportunities.”
The Travagliato native is especially impressed by Milan focusing on youth in Milans back line.
“Alessio Romagnoli is young, and has a lot of character, he is confirming his great quality. Gianluigi Donnarumma seems older than 16 because he has such a difficult role as goalkeeper, especially at the San Siro.”
