Baroni following defeat at San Siro: “I don’t remember any chances created by Milan”

By Euan Burns -

Verona coach Marco Baroni has claimed that Milan did not create any chances themselves during the 1-0 win over the Gialloblu on Saturday afternoon.

Baroni was speaking to the press after the match at San Siro (via Milan News), and he appeared angry with how his team had handed opportunities to Milan, rather than been played through.

The only goal of the game came when a Verona midfielder was dispossessed in the midfield and Olivier Giroud managed to poke it through to Rafael Leao who did the rest.

Milan then lacked creativity, as did Verona, which led to it being a very uninspiring game at the San Siro.

This is something that clearly angered Baroni as he said: “I don’t remember any chances created by Milan, but only on balls lost by us. Verona played a great game, we have to believe in it more.”

It was a victory that Milan really needed given the 5-1 loss against Inter the weekend before, but it certainly was not the sort of overall performance that the fans will want to keep seeing.

  1. You can’t remember because there weren’t any.
Your team didn’t create any chances either.
2 teams of 11 players just running up and down and kicking a ball without a purpose

    1. We took our best chance and scored. Then we knew we couldn’t score more so we defended. They were doing some fancy passes but really were never dangerous.

  2. This manager called pioli is the luckiest man in the world of football sitting in the helm of world power club like Milan, if it were a success hungry president like Abramovic of Chelsea, Perez of Madrid , laporta of Barcelona and even the most successful club president my Silvio Berlusconi! This chicken head manager will be long gone! It tells of the lost of ideas of cardinale who does not know much about European football…..anyways pioli enjoy yourself while your time lasted..

    1. Abate will replace him in the future, I believe, but we have to wait for 3–4 years for that or if Abate wins some major trophy. You know how our owner claims he hates losing.

  3. Um … I believe Puli created a chance cutting out a pass in the press.

That said I’m concerned that we didn’t seem to bring or sustain pressure in the final third much at all today.

    On to Cagliari.

  4. He must have had his eyes closed when Pulisic did his spin and turn shot on goal that was just a bit too close to the GK.
Plus, it was Pulisic who started the chain of events that led to Leao’s goal – intercepting this lazy backpass. Pulisic then got dispossessed, but Giroud wss right there to take it back and make the pass to Leao.
Watching the match again, Pulisic was playing more in a central attacking midfield role. Not sure why. But it almost seemed like Milan didn’t have a true right wing. A lot of the action was heavily weighted towards Leao’s side of the field. Musah was the only one making deep wide runs down the right

      1. Lmao at “almost all of us”. Just show how delusional and brainless Pioli haters are. They think their voices are the majority of Milan fans lmao.

        1. Wait and see u will see u are d one that is delusional u think d voices of d fan doesn’t matter, d only reason pioli is still there is because cardinal doesn’t want to spend more money on coach just because pioli is d dumbest coach of ac Milan he doesn’t ask for more he doesn’t aim for high he knows ac Milan is his highest opportunity in life he wouldn’t have coached any better team so he found himself lucky coaching Milan so he would never ask for more cos he’s afraid of being sacked if he asked for more but very soon d voice of pioli haters will be loud enough when PSG and dutchmund will beat him home and away.

    1. Exactly. There’s a reason teams implements high press. Forcing your opponent to make mistakes in possesion around their goal area could be as intentional and crucial as to the simple basic ways of creating scoring chances.

  5. We all can clearly now that it wasn’t lack of good players that made us came out 4th In d table last season it was because of lack of good coach pioli is d most useless coach of ac Milan no matter what u give him he just lack Ideas, I just don’t don’t see him as a coach he doesn’t have d vibe and d discipline d players need to motivate them to be Hungary for winning matches. Milan are always sluggish on d pitch, very predictable on d pitch. Pioli gas made me lost interest in watching Milan matches.
