Davide Bartesaghi admitted his disappointment regarding AC Milan’s end to the season, one that cost Massimiliano Allegri his job.
Bartesaghi made his debut for the national team, having been selected in the starting line-up by Silvio Baldini in the friendly match between Luxembourg and Italy, won by the Azzurri with a goal by Pio Esposito.

The left-back got 90 minutes in the game and it was a positive performance for the 20-year-old to in some ways cap a season that was positive from a personal point of view, given that he also became a starter for Milan.
Bartesaghi was interviewed by MilanNews after last night’s game at the Stade de Luxembourg and he answered questions on a few different topics.
We start from the failure to qualify for the Champions League, which changed the opinions on the season…
“It’s certainly disappointing, because it was a goal we set ourselves at the start of the season. But that’s how it went now, we need to lick our wounds and focus everything on next year.”
What happened in that defeat against Cagliari? Was it a psychological breakdown?
“It was a difficult match, perhaps we had the wrong attitude. But there’s no going back now, we’re very disappointed.”
Are you disappointed that Allegri got sacked?
“Of course. He’s a coach I respect, as is the entire staff. I wish him the best.”
You have become a starter, what’s the secret?
“Work, keep your head calm and free from worries. Continue to do your job and work with a clear head.”
If Leao leaves, will you miss him?
“Of course. He’s a player I care about very much. If he needs a change of scenery because he feels like it, I don’t see why he shouldn’t.”
Where can you improve?
“I still have a lot to improve on, especially defensively but also offensively. It’s my first year at the senior level, and I’m slowly achieving what I set out to do, but with even bigger goals for next season.”
Milan must look ahead, with the Europa League and a second star to target…
“We have to lick our wounds first and then see what happens.”

Allegri did not betray anyone.there was no trust from the begining. Actions speak louder than words. There has been backstabbing all these years. Everyone works for his own interest cos the other party ain’t giving any favors.Napoli was his backup plan if things went south, and it did. Good luck to him.

Nicely put. He saw how ridiculous the environment is and he knew he was going to be fired anyway even with top 4, because Milan’s real owner, Zlatan, didn’t like him. Most of the players at the pitch probably also knew it’s their last game, I guess everyone’s a traitor, but the clowns who are betraying the fans, the history, their employers and the season goals three years in a row.

Milan Journalists are as delusional as the fans. 2nd star? The team don’t even have a coach and half the team are either unwanted or actually want to leave the club. Stop talking about 2nd star. This team isn’t even ready to achieve top 4 right now, heck they’d be lucky to make it back to Europe next season, given how many glaring holes they have.

Well… If Bartesaghi stays long enough (+10 years?) he might have a chance to be involved in the 2nd star but I wouldn’t bet money on him staying for even 3 years as he’s 100% pure capital gain for the management.
