This weekend, it appears Massimiliano Allegri is considering making a few changes to his starting XI, and a few returns could be seen in the AC Milan squad.
It has been a difficult few weeks for Milan and they have certainly lost a bit of momentum. However, they are not done and dusted. Instead, there is plenty of football to be played, and they can attack the last games of the season.
The Champions League is not yet an achieved goal, so they certainly cannot switch off. Neither the fans nor Allegri will allow that, as he stated in his press conference this morning.
Changes to be made
As this morning’s Gazzetta dello Sport reported (seen below), the Italian is weighing up a number of changes. It has already been reported that Niclas Füllkrug may return to the starting XI, but that is very much a maybe, it seems.
Elsewhere, there are near confirmations of returns, and it starts on the left hand side, where Adrien Rabiot and Davide Bartesaghi are both in line for a welcoming back to the midfield.
Then, Youssouf Fofana and Samuele Ricci are reportedly battling it out for a spot on the right of the midfield trio. Allegri tried both out in training at Milanello, with both having different positives. The Italian would offer a more possession based game, whilst Fofana would provide more physicality.
A decision will only be made after the training session scheduled for this afternoon.
