Bastoni admits to feeling desire for revenge against Milan after league derby defeats

Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni has admitted to feeling a ‘desire for revenge’ against AC Milan after the last couple of league derby defeats.

Milan and Inter will contest a derby with a trophy at stake for the first time in over a decade in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday night, with both sides hoping to light a fire under their season after recent struggles by bringing home some silverware.

The Rossoneri ran out 3-2 winners during the only derby played this season, that being in the league back in early September, but the Nerazzurri will no doubt be out for revenge and probably boast slightly better recent form.

Bastoni was interview by Sky Italia on the back of Inter’s 1-0 home win against Hellas Verona on Saturday night and he was asked about the upcoming Supercoppa clash, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

Is there a desire for a revenge against Milan?

“Yes, it’s a game that also gives you a trophy and so we want to play. Is it better to win this or the title? No player who has ambitions would answer this question. We know it will be difficult but we will try to win both.”
