AC Milan are naturally looking into their striker options ahead of next season and they are in the running for Lorenzo Lucca, a report claims.
Milan are currently in a situation whereby Alvaro Morata is not scoring regularly, Tammy Abraham is currently only on a dry loan (but reportedly wishes to stay) and Luka Jovic will be out of contract having barely been used anyway.
Thus, as Calciomercato.com report, a striker is on Milan’s list for the summer and Lucca of Udinese is a name that they are monitoring. The problem at the moment is that Atalanta and other rivals are also keen on the 6ft7 forward.
Gian Piero Gasperini has been clear on several occasions that he wishes to recruit another centre-forward because of Mateo Retegui and Gianluca Scamacca’s injury issues. Thus, they are trying to get Lucca via a loan formula as early as the January window.
The 24-year-old is wanted by Milan, Inter and Juventus, but none of those clubs have any intention of bringing him in this month. Furthermore, Lucca is a crucial part of the Udinese team with seven league goals already this season, so they do not wish to lose him mid-season.
That could be an advantage to Milan and their rivals, given they are willing to be more patient, but pressure from Atalanta could also see the Friulians reflect if the offer is right.
If Højlund is available (which he seems to be..) then he has to be who we go for this summer. Get him on loan with option like we are doing for Rashford. Spend some real money for once Gerry! Please!
Totally agree. Hojlund would be great at Milan.
Hojlund cannot stay fit.
Hojlund all the way. He’s skills pace power and he’ll score goals in Italy. Hardly exciting by Kolo Muani and the Luccas
Atalanta going for Frendrup and Lucca
We are gonna get 2 randos from Moncada’s weird list of ex-Ligue 1 players…
i like piccoli from cagliari. he scored a (disallowed) banger against us
Atalanta hoarding good strikers. FFS.
They don’t faff about. If they have a hole in their team they fill it.
Best run club in Italy imo
