AC Milan are taking on Bayer Leverkusen in the second round of the Champions League this evening. After turning things around in Serie A, the Rossoneri are now looking to bag their first win in the tournament.
The opening round against Liverpool left a lot to be desired and a response is now needed, even if it’s far from easy against a side like Bayer Leverkusen. Paulo Fonseca has made just one change from the win against Lecce at the weekend, as Ruben Loftus-Cheek replaces Alvaro Morata.

Leao remains Leao and the ref got a lot of calling wrong in both half’s.
Fripomg was pulling Theo shirt before he fell. That was a pinned down on RLC at the edge of the box and lot more.

We only play a great football for just 25 min …a club like Milan need to do it atleast up to 80mins

The refereeing was a disgrace tonight. Rarely have I seen a more biased referee brigade with one team against the other. From my point of view Milan was better than Leverkusen but the referees made the difference. I can’t believe how Morata was able to head it wide of the goal at that stage from a central position, such an easy ball… shame. We deserved at least a draw tonight.
What opportunities. We should be ashamed that we play leverkusen like a third division team.

You are right with your first line of statement, Milan shown too much respect for Leverkusen or I should say they were playing with fear and only attack better after confiding the goal.
But I can’t blame , they played to the coach instructions. At his conference he said they need to defend I see reason they never attacked throughout first half and was just one shot on target or so.
The difference is really their coach is 6m per year while ours is 2.5m. and the difference showed in coaching quality. They have a team that plays like a team with a plan and a system
