AC Milan have been linked with yet another target in their bid to sign a new striker, and Patrik Schick is the latest name.
According to TMW, Milan are continuing their search for a new centre-forward to partner Santiago Gimenez and the management are evaluating the idea of moving for Schick. The Bayer Leverkusem man is a target for the sporting director Igli Tare specifically, they add.

Discussions are ongoing between the parties to understand the feasibility of the operation. The former Roma player is liked by both the management and crucially the head coach coach Massimiliano Allegri.
Promising numbers
The 29-year-old already has experience in Serie A, where he played for Roma and Sampdoria, making 58 and 35 appearances, respectively, and scoring eight goals in the capital and 13 in Genoa.
He also boasts 168 appearances and 81 goals for Bayer Leverkusen, 29 appearances and nine goals for Bohemians 1905, 28 games and 10 goals for RB Leipzig, 10 matches and one goal for Sparta Prague.
He has appeared 46 times for the Czech Republic national team, scoring 24 times. He has also played numerous youth teams, from the Under-16s to the Under-21s, missing only the Under-20s. It must be noted that another Leverkusen striker has already been linked in Victor Boniface.
His list of achievements includes a Bundesliga title, a German Cup, a German Super Cup, a Czech league title, and a Czech Cup. Perhaps his future lies with Milan, who need a more physical presence by Tare’s own admission.
So how much does he cost at 29 with all the aforementioned achievements?
I just feel we won’t get a striker cus we are making same mistakes we have been making in previous mercato’s. Maldini may be gone but mode of operation still remains thesame, I feel they are reading from same book.

Use some critical thinking, what is the probability that sports journos at the beginning of the transfer market knows exactly who Milan are going for, it is very low and if they did I promise you that the club will have some article come out talking about issues of leaks and things hinting to that at the very least.
Now specific to Milan, I don’t know why people are not realistic. The club does not have the money to drop 40-60 million on one player. This is the reality, so when you see articles mentioning the names of very in demand players who are young. It is more chances that it is not a real target.
Milan will never set a budget for a window that has its money come from the pockets of its owners. The money has to come from the club. So when you see that and realise Milan has only been in profit because of accounting gymnastics that utilises the sale of players as a means to push the club into the green, you can be sure that Milan is living off of scraps.
So now, Milan needs to compete but has to solve many quality gaps in the team. They will have to know how to get the best bang for their buck because of all of this, while still making small performance incriminates in the positions where they cannot divert all or most of their funds to.
So Gimenez is going to stay but another support striker will come in, but the characteristics will be different. Someone who has speed and quality is needed. Schick does fit in well with this idea of not spending too much but getting a bang for your buck. So too with players linked to the full back positions.
That all makes sense because Milan is diverting a larger chunk of their budget towards the midfield and if possible get some money from selling a CB in order to fund a better quality player in other positions. But that isnt going to happen.
Also if you notice, Milan is making a lot of deals using a decent sized fixed payment and then staggered performance goals to reach their player valuations by other clubs, they are trying to solve all their problems by using these methods to save where they can and get the best bang for their buck.
Milan for the first time are out of the FIFA watchdog organisation for financial issues and the rules allow Milan and other clubs to run on a deficit of 60 million but that is something you can watch out for maybe and consider that as part of this existing budget.
Oh, we’re at the Patrik Schick stage of the transfer window already. Usually it’s the last few weeks before they start throwing Schick stories around.

Schick was at Roma 5 years ago, he averages above 0.5 goals a game for Leverkusen in the Bundesliga. If you look at Gyokeres 5 seasons ago he was nowhere, and he’s 28 now.

Finally good news about potential signings, Schick would be good option if Boniface is not possible. Then i also read today in other news here that it seems they will try for Pubill as RB and for Estupiñán as LB. Those are good choices, and not Zinchenko or Fran García that have also been mentioned for LB. For right back other good options would be Dodo, or Wesley from Flamengo (who news are that Roma are closing on him). And for LB, other good options could be Grimaldo, or Calafiori with a loan +buy option
