AC Milan are not giving up on their ‘dream’ of signing Kim Min-jae, but it will be a very tough operation to pull off.
As La Gazzetta dello Sport report, without a sale Milan basically have zero budget to put towards a transfer fee for a centre-back or a player in any other position. So, they must sign someone for a very low fee, or via a loan formula.

The impossible dream?
The goal is to find a world-class centre-back who can leave his current club on loan, preferably with a background in Serie A. The perfect fit is Kim Min-jae, who won the title in Italy with Napoli and then immediately moved to Germany, to Bayern Munich.
He would be an ideal addition, but for now the German giants aren’t so open to his departure. The main issue is salary: Kim earns a ridiculous amount of €9m net per year. Even on loan, Bayern would need a helping hand to cover his wages.
In short, everything is very complicated at the moment, although the Korean is open to a return to Serie A. That’s why alternative, slightly ‘easier’ options remain, such as the one leading to Chelsea’s Axel Disasi (more so than Dortmund’s Niklas Süle).
The Frenchman is not a part of the plans at Stamford Bridge, while relations between Milan and the Blues are excellent, so if the Rossoneri management were to step up their game, a deal would be more than possible.
As Igli Tare reiterated before the match against Cagliari, the Rossoneri are not in such a rush. Massimiliano Allegri was able to do without Gabbia and Pavlovic, two of his three starters, in Sardinia. A signing will be made, but the current situation is not seen as an absolute emergency.

And how many playera fall into that category exactly? Let alone the fact that surely any club would let their world class player on loan in January.
Why dont try Vini then on loan? He will 100% be willing to go to Milan for a few months for 1/3 of a salary.

But i dont know why you would say that they like to go for once-good-players? Its not like they previously brought in Origi, Mandzukic and idk Joao Felix just based on former success. That would be crazy right?

It would be a huge mistake to view success against Cagliari as a sign of sure success against Inter. The team is better with Bartesaghi at the wing not CB. They have to find CB depth or they’re going to be toeing the edge of the cliff for the rest of the season.

I think we have to be realistic here, Kim will not come, too expensive. Disasi is terrible and no serie A experience, so why he is even mentioned is bizarre ??!!
Gila will not come mid season and Lazio want extortionate amounts, Gatti won’t come unless we find 20m cash, we don’t have, Lucumi won’t leave mid season…..so what is left ?
Coppola, loan with option, not getting game time at Brighton, good couple of years serie A experience, young, solid and could be a good future investment for the team, not going to be starter anyway and surely can’t be worse than De Winter.
