There are growing reports that Bayern Munich are seriously interested in signing Rafael Leao, but AC Milan have set a huge asking price.

Leao had another up and down season but he remained productive, with 13 goals and 12 assists across all competitions, despite having periods where he wasn’t even a guaranteed starter under both Paulo Fonseca and Sergio Conceicao.

Milan are about to begin a new era with Igli Tare and Massimiliano Allegri in command. Both the new sporting director and the new head coach are believed to want to build around the winger.

Leao in demand

According to MilanNews, confirmations have arrived regarding the news from Germany earlier in the week: Bayern are keen on exploring a deal to sign Leao ahead of the 2025-26 season.

However, Milan’s position is clear in that they want to keep the winger, but there have also been inquiries from some English clubs. The land him, a truly irresistible offer would be needed, especially given the Rossoneri are protected by his €175m release clause.

Leao Tare Allegri

Milan are not willing to sell the player for anything less than a mammoth sum because they see the Portuguese as being central to Massimiliano Allegri’s plans.

Meanwhile, Luca Marchetti spoke live on Sky (via MilanNews), confirming that the Bavarian side want Leao but that Milan want a very high figure, around €130m.

The German champions – who would like to strengthen before the Club World Cup which starts in less than two weeks – do not agree with the valuation set by the Rossoneri.

  1. 75mill and 100mill is a stretch but if we manage to get 100mill we should take it and run with it.
The 175m release clause isn’t protecting us from anything, the dude is a speed-star lacking basic football IQ. If we fail to cashout now, we will be risking him leaving for free. He’d just drag the team down.

  2. If bayern missed out on these man after they would come regret that’s the great opportunity we have

  3. With that money we can effectively get:
    1. LW – Karim Adeyemi
    2. CAM – Xavi Simons

It appears from indications, Allegri may play with a 4-2-3-1 formation.

    1. Wow, two garbage players from a mediocre league. Adwyemi is all speed and no brains. Simons is kind of a superior João Felix.

  4. Well it’s not about Bayern’s evaluation it’s about Milan’s will and how much they want him. Rice was not worth 100mill but Arsenal wanted him more than anything, I guess Munich don’t really want leao

  5. If this really happen, we will have a big budget to rebuild the new Milan under Allegri.

    Thats a good business.

  6. No club on earth will pay 130 million for lazy Leao.
    He’s sloppy, predictable and lazy.
If we get 60million for Leao It will be a miracle.

  7. Bayern paid 100M for a 30 years old Kane so 100M for overrated and lazy ass Leao sounds good for us

  8. 100m please with 2 years structure payment / installment , it’s the best solutions. Bayern have no issues with money

  9. If our director football still Galliani, he will be open that table and discuss 100m with some 2 years payments. Transfer Guru
