Sergio Conceicao was not even officially the AC Milan head coach until Monday morning, but by the afternoon he was taking his first training session.
Conceicao was announced as the new manager on a deal until 2026 yesterday, and that came just hours after Paulo Fonseca had been sacking the morning after the 1-1 draw against Roma at San Siro.
The new man in charge did not want to waste any time and after landing in Italy he headed straight to Milanello for an evening session with his new players, before they departed for Saudi Arabia today.
Did I just see Pavlovic try and play a ball on through a crowd of players. No wonder he’s not starting his footballing iq looks slim. Sort of stuff I’m telling my 8 year old not to do. Please footballing gods make this new manager the one
On this video we can see that Conceição speaks very fast, very fluent, very correct Italian with minimum accent (likely well-learned during his time as a player in Serie A). That is good! Players had complained that they couldn’t understand Fonseca. I’m not sure if that was a language barrier, or tactical confusion, or a combination of both (more likely a combination), but at least language-wise, it certainly won’t be a problem with Conceição.
Another notable scene is the HUGE smile displayed by Theo when walking to the training session and looking very excited. It’s hard to read too much into it as we don’t know what he was smiling about, but it’s not hard to speculate that Theo did hate Fonseca and is very happy that now he will be playing for a new coach. Let’s hope that this will help Theo in recovering his form.
Agree with you bi think there we’re some tension between theo and fonseca and theo is probaly happy he is gone.
