One of the most important renewals that the Milan management got over the line recently was that of Ismael Bennacer, especially given he had interest from England.
As Calciomercato.com report, the technical qualities of Bennacer and his importance to Stefano Pioli’s plans cannot be understated, which is why it was widely celebrated when he committed his future to Milan last January with a renewal until 2027.
As part of that his pay went from €1.5m net per season to around €4m, a choice facilitated by the change of agent (he is now represented by Enzo Raiola) and by his firm will to win more trophies with the Rossoneri.
However, there was also interest from abroad. Arsenal tried to bring him back to north London before signing Jorginho, given that the midfielder was in their Academy before he moved to Empoli.
Big moves are expected in the summer window and some ‘surprise names’ could be on the transferable list, but not Bennacer’s. The 25-year-old has said no to various proposals from the Premier League and LaLiga because he is convinced that his present and future is at Milan.
