Bennacer praises Tonali and shares update on his condition: “I’m happy to play”

AC Milan will take on Venezia this evening in the fifth round of Serie A, looking to build on their unbeaten run after 1-1 against Juventus. Given the opposition, there are some changes to the XI and Ismael Bennacer will start.

In total, Stefano Pioli has decided to make five changes to the XI we saw against Juventus. Ismael Bennacer will get the chance this time out as Franck Kessie hasn’t impressed lately, perhaps bothered by his contract situation.

Against Juventus, Bennacer did very well off the bench and just a few minutes ago, he spoke to MilanTV (via MilanNews) about tonight’s clash. He also commented on the partnership with Sandro Tonali, who is now an undisputed starter.

On the game…

“We prepared as if it were a big match because it is. We have to give everything to try to win.”

On the tandem with Tonali…

“You can see that he has improved in everything. When you work, you grow. He works hard and is doing well. He is playing more and gaining confidence.”

On his condition…

“I’m getting back in shape. Only matches help to find the rhythm. That’s why I’m happy to play and I have to play more to be in better shape.”

Hopefully, Milan will add another three points to their tally as it would take them up to 13 for the season thus far. Indeed, it would be a very good start for the Rossoneri.
