MN: Bennacer makes stance clear on future amid Liverpool and Arsenal interest

By Oliver Fisher -

There are Premier League sides who want to try and prise Ismael Bennacer away from AC Milan but the player for his part is happy where he is, a report claims.

MilanNews report that the Milan management have been speaking with Bennacer over extending his deal beyond June 2024 and despite the change of agent and a lot of interest from Premier League teams, the developments of the last few weeks suggest an agreement isn’t that far away.

Milan began speaking with Moussa Sissoko, Bennacer’s old agent, but at the end of November he decided to change to Enzo Raiola, Mino’s heir. Although the first impression was that a change of agency could help him test the waters and potentially move abroad, he took this decision with the aim of concluding an agreement with Milan.

Sissoko was alerted by the interest from English sides Liverpool and Arsenal above all, but Bennacer would like to continue with the Rossoneri where he knows he has a leading role and believes he can still grow a lot.

Shortly before Christmas, a first conversation was staged at Casa Milan between the directors Maldini and Massara and Bennacer’s agent Enzo Raiola with the aim reaching an agreement. Milan’s offer has gone up to €4m net per season, a significant increase compared to the current €1.5m, with the proposed extension until 2027.

Raiola communicated the club’s offer to the player and a new meeting is expected for January which could be the definitive one. The parties will have to find a meeting point, yet there is a good feeling it will be found.

  1. Same old, same old, same old
Aren’t you even bored to write THE VERY SAME THING (with no concrete results) again and again and again. I mean, if we scroll back 2+ months ago, we’ll read the same thing.
Enough with it already. Let us read when he signs or goes away, this is as boring as watching a painted wall getting dry!
