Berlusconi heaps praise on Maldini: “The same charisma and competence”

By Isak Möller -

Ahead of tonight’s big game between AC Milan and Napoli, the former Rossoneri owner Silvio Berlusconi has shared his thoughts on a range of topics, including Paolo Maldini. He had only good things to say about the director.

Maldini was obviously a key part of Berlusconi’s successful Milan side and he has done well as a director for the club as well. On such a low budget, the Scudetto last season was really a miracle (even if this season’s disappointment has overshadowed it a bit).

Speaking to Gazzetta Dello Sport, as cited by TuttoMercatoWeb, Berlusconi shared his thoughts on Maldini and the work he has done for Milan thus far. He stated that the 54-year-old is still the leader he used to be on the pitch.

“He was a leader for Milan on the pitch and he remains that today, but from his desk as a director. With the same charisma, the same style, the same lucidity and competence.”

Tonight’s clash is scheduled for 20:45 CEST and it will be an important one for the standings, as Milan are fighting for a spot in the top four. Of course, it will also be important for the upcoming UCL quarter.
