A new name has emerged as a potential summer reinforcement for AC Milan: rising Atalanta star Lorenzo Bernasconi.
According to a report from MilanVibes, the Milan management are of the opinion that the squad ‘desperately needs a left-back’. Due to squad composition regulations they are looking for players that are products of Italian academies.

Bernasconi is enjoying his first season as an established first team player for Atalanta. In 2024-25 he made 42 appearances overall with Atalanta U23 in Serie C, scoring three goals and adding an impressive 12 assists.
That convinced La Dea to promote him and he has made 37 appearances for the senior side this year: 23 in Serie A, four in the Coppa Italia and 10 in the Champions League.. From a performance point of view, he has three assists, with a total of 2668 minutes played.
He is a left wing-back with ‘modern characteristics, capable of running very quickly despite his imposing 190cm frame’. It is precisely thanks to this physical structure that he is able to cover the entire flank well, so there are some similarities with Milan’s own break-out star Davide Bartesaghi.
His current market value, according to Transfermarkt, is €15m. That figure is clearly set to rise in any eventual negotiations. The player is currently sidelined due to an injury sustained in the Coppa Italia semi-final against Lazio which will keep him out for the season, it seems.
The story comes amid talk that Milan will look to sell Pervis Estupinan this summer, only 12 months after signing him from Premier League club Brighton and Hove Albion.
