If you are planning to make the trip to Milano and San Siro soon, then you have come to the right place. In this article, we will guide you through buying tickets for AC Milan games and most importantly what to avoid.
San Siro is one of the most iconic football stadiums in the world, with a unique design and fantastic acoustics that make the Rossonero roar as loud as a rock concert. However, when making the trip to the north of Italy, getting tickets for AC Milan might not always be straightforward.
We often get emails from fans asking how and where to buy tickets, so we thought it would be best to publish a guide on the matter. We want every single Milan fan to have a good time when visiting the city, and the basis of that is getting a ticket for the game.
Where to buy AC Milan tickets
This is without a doubt the most important thing, so listen up: do not buy tickets for AC Milan games on third-party sites. The prices always get jacked up on these sites, and there is no real guarantee that you will be able to enter the stadium with such a ticket.
Milan’s system requires the purchaser to add a name to the ticket and for some games, a so-called ‘name change’ is not allowed by the club. This is specifically to prevent third-party sites from buying huge chunks of tickets, to then sell them at much higher prices.
So, where should you buy tickets online? On AC Milan’s official website, more specifically their portal called Singletickets. All of the games will be listed here, even the ones that are awaiting date confirmation, and Milan always provide information regarding the ticket release in advance.
Alternatively, you could head over to Casa Milan and buy your ticket(s) in person. This is tougher for people who live abroad, though, and it is not ideal for big games which often sell out in advance.
How much does a ticket cost?
This will depend entirely on the section – and the game – with plenty of options to choose from at San Siro. As an example, the ticket prices for Milan’s game against Roma on January 14, 2023, had a range of €34-249 with the most expensive section being Tribuna Onore Rossa.
The cheapest section is the Curva Sud, which is where the hard-core Milan fans stand. Yes, stand, because they are on their feet throughout the entire game. A ticket in that section, with three levels to pick from, can be as low as €10 for the smaller games to €30+ for the bigger games.
Champions League games are notoriously pricey, with the 2023-24 clash against PSG costing fans €69 for the third ring of the Curva Sud.
Most of the fans travelling to Milan for the first time, however, will not want to buy a ticket in the Curva Sud. Popular choices include Secondo Anello Rosso and Secondo Arancio, which are located in the second ring of the San Siro and offer good value for the money. These are our favourites as well.
For the big games, these sections will set you back €50-80 (on average) but for the smaller games, you can often get a good deal. Having said that, apart from maybe the third-ring sections, you will have a great view at San Siro regardless of the section.
In the 2022-23 season, Milan had over 1.8m fans present at San Siro and collected over €72m in box office revenue.

- Pick the game you would like tickets for by tapping on ‘Buy Now’
- Look for the ‘Tickets’ section and tap on ‘Buy Ticket’
- You may need to wait in a queue system, depending on when the tickets went on sale
- Login to your Milan account or create one for free
- Choose the section you would like tickets for on the San Siro stadium map
- Follow the instructions to complete your purchase of Milan tickets
When are the game dates confirmed?
As you may have noticed when trying to plan a trip to Milan, Serie A is notoriously poor when it comes to the schedule. Sometimes, the dates and times can be confirmed just three or even two weeks before the game in question, making it very difficult for those of us who live abroad.
Lega Serie A have improved slightly in the last year or so, but the situation is far from great. Therefore, if you need to plan your trip well in advance, we recommend opting for a slightly ‘smaller’ game and leaving room for potential schedule changes.
For example, if you want to see a league game at the weekend, you should book a stay until Monday. This ensures that you are covered for both a Saturday and a Sunday game. Friday and Monday clashes, meanwhile, are very rare.
If you can afford to wait, or if you are travelling from Europe where there are usually cheap flight options, this is the best option. Furthermore, many hotels offer fully refundable rooms and this is a great way to book in advance without risking anything.
Although it is usually not an issue to get tickets for a small or a semi-big game, it always feels better to have the ticket(s) confirmed before booking flights and a hotel.
