AC Milan have announced the signing of Goncalo Ramos, the new record-breaking striker for Ruben Amorim.
Things moved very quickly in this particular negotiation, something that Milan fans have not been used to in recent years. On Thursday there was talk of an official bid being sent to Paris Saint-Germain, and by Friday evening everything had been agreed.
The fees paid for the likes of Rafael Leao, Leonardo Bonucci and Manuel Rui Costa have been blown out of the water as the Rossoneri will pay a whopping €74m plus bonuses to land the Portuguese striker from the European champions, according to Fabrizio Romano.
While that amount has divided opinion in terms of whether it constitutes a fair market rate or not, Milan must at least be given credit for moving swiftly and decisively to tick off one of the most important signings of the new Amorim era.
The numbers that the 25-year-old have put up are remarkably consistent, too. For Benfica: 106 games, 41 goals, 12 assists. One goal every 153 minutes, a goal contribution every 118. With PSG: 131 games, 45 goals, 10 assists. A goal every 120 minutes, one contribution every 98.
In total, Ramos has scored 101 goals for club (41+45) and country (10) combined. What can fans expect from Ramos? The highlights reel below shows a lot of what he is about, at club level and for the national team.
