Bianchin claims Milan can include Camarda as a ‘third striker’: “Without a burden”

By Ben Dixon -

Francesco Camarda is not just the next big thing for AC Milan, but also Italian football, and the questions that surround his future constantly relate to when he will move to senior football. Today, Luca Bianchin has claimed he could feature for the senior side in the upcoming season.

The hype train for Camarda grows at a staggering pace, and following his goals at the Under 19 European Championship, it will not slow down anytime soon. Playing above his age is not a new thing to the striker, and it is a question of when, not if, he will step up to the senior levels.

However, Milan are keen to wait with the youngster to minimise the pressure upon his shoulders.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has already laid the foundations of expectations for the young striker, stating that he expects him to struggle in Serie C initially, but this is the best statement for him, given it reduces the pressure to hit the ground running.

Nevertheless, questions about the next step are already swarming the young striker, and with the Rossoneri’s summer recruitment, it seems they are already putting the foundations in place for the future.

With this in mind, Bianchin spoke to MilanNews24 about the youngster’s future and claimed that this season could be a fantastic opportunity to try him among the senior players.

“I remain of the idea that some guys have been burned in the past by money, by fame. In his case, it seems to me that he has a not-inconsiderable mentality, an unquestionable application so far even if he is still to be tested in many respects. He has already been tested like no other 16-year-old in the recent history of Italian football.”

The first team picture…

“Putting him in the first team? It still seems like a stretch to me, but he will certainly get minutes, I think Milan will be able to include him in the first-team squad as a third striker, without putting the burden of exaggerated expectations on him.

“The numbers already say it all, one step at a time. Yamal is a reference but let’s not forget that phenomena are not replicable, I saw him a year ago in Milan Barcelona and in one year he won a European Championship as a protagonist. To think that Camarda can do so much is ungenerous and I wouldn’t put that burden on him.”

  1. This nonsense about Camarda being part of the 1st team needs to stop.
He is at a stage where he needs to play so he can develop. What is the point of having him as a 3rd striker? For publicity? Better seats at the stadium to watch the games? He’d barely play.
Also, he needs to develop physically before you can put him out there to play vs grown men. He couldn’t deal with the physicality of kids 2,3 years older than him but he is supposedly ready to deal with some of the best defenders in the league. One hip check, or shoulder to shoulder and he has moved 15 meters from the previous spot. He is at least 2 years away from the 1st team.
Milan Futuro in serie C is the perfect opportunity for him to grow and develop.
Yamal is a winger. If he was a striker he wouldn’t have been playing now for Barcelona or Spain.

  2. I definitely agree.

We do not need to buy another striker.
We already have Morata and Jovic (and also Okafor), and we can give some minutes to Camarda.

  3. If Jamal can play for barca, Camarda could play for Milan. But can Milan pull it off like barca can? I honestly dont see it. There is a precedent with Dollar, but those were weird times.

Imao there is no rush, let him cook in futuro for a year

  4. Why haven’t Milan looked at victor roque? Such a young striker who Barca obviously saw a lot
Of potential in.. he wants to leave, Barca want to sell..
