Bianchin, Theo and Leao

Bianchin: Hernandez and Leao could leave Milan ‘together’ in the summer

Theo Hernandez and Rafael Leao could leave AC Milan ‘together’ in the summer, according to a report, following what has been a season with many ups and downs for the duo.

There have been many reports about the future of Theo Hernandez lately, seeing as his contract renewal appears difficult. The current deal expires in 2026 and as opposed to Mike Maignan, there is no verbal agreement over a renewal.

Leao, meanwhile, is linked with big clubs almost every year and the inconsistency this season has somewhat fueled that. His contract expires in 2028, so Milan would probably ask for a lot of money to part ways with the star winger. Perhaps missing out on the Champions League could change that.

According to Luca Bianchin of Gazzetta dello Sport, the duo could leave Milan together in the summer. Or, they could both stay and continue at the club. It sounds like a cop-out answer, but the point is more so that their futures are intertwined.

The Milan fans have learned to know them – strong and inconsistent – and they have learned to know Italy. They know that here, everything changes in a quarter of an hour. They arrived together, five and a half years ago, and in January they were at the centre of the same rumours and negotiations, with Saudi Arabia interested in Rafa and Como making a sensational offer for Theo.

“They have remained, as always, in the same city and tied by the same destiny. Maybe they will continue for a long time or maybe they will leave soon, already in June. Together… and yes, it would make sense,” the journalist writes.

  1. Wow this was a nonsensical article that you can apply to any player in any team in the world.

They could leave ,but they could also stay 🤣

  2. Yeah who knows what will happen.

Red Bird have a lot of options in summer. Hope they will first remove all blunders, and loaned players before they start selling most experienced one.

    1. They should remove the incompetent management first before doing anything. Get rid of Ibra, Moncada and Furlani before selling any players. We need a competent sporting director who knows how to build a winning team.

        1. He won’t. Furlani is doing his job. Ibrahimovic has done his job well since the last mercaro. Most of the blame is on Moncada.

  3. This is Gazzetta journalism to the t. A bunch of nonsensical gibberish written just to collect clicks an/or fill a space on page. Incoherent babble by an incompetent pretender. Lowest form of sensationalistic journalism, without the actual journalism part.

  4. Neither seems able to find their firm and motivation or confidence – whatever it is they are kissing. .the talent is clearly there, Leao can do amazing things, but recently he isn’t getting 3 in 10 right, he’s at 1 in 20.

Theo has great techniqu, a decent shot and fantastic speed, but positioning and marking isn’t anywhere entry the top of Europe’s elite. He, like Leao, do not always pull them that weight defensively. Which is a problem for a winger, but a really basic failure fr a full-back.

The annoying thing is that he showed last season, when playing centre-back, that it isn’t the skills, it’s the mental application that’s missing.

Sometimes the time for a change just comes. The ideal time was this summer, when a new coach was coming in.
