Bianchin: Why Milan waited until July and how much Camarda’s contract is worth

By Isak Möller -

Francesco Camarda recently renewed his contract with AC Milan after months of rumours and speculation, with some big clubs keeping tabs on the situation. In the end, however, the renewal with the Rossoneri was never at risk.

Camarda is a boyhood Milan fan, having grown up in the academy, and his desire was always to remain at the club. The likes of Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City expressed an interest, but talks were never advanced as the striker only had one thing in mind.

As reported by Luca Bianchin, Camarda will now earn close to €450k plus bonuses per year and the new deal keeps him tied to the club until the summer of 2027. Despite the heavy interest from abroad, Milan decided to wait until July so that they could include the 2026-27 season.

Having turned 16 in March, the maximum Camarda could sign after July 1st – as per the regulations – was a three-year deal and that is why Milan waited. There was no need to rush things as the youngster already had agreed to the renewal, dismissing all interest from abroad.

Now, Camarda will focus on the upcoming season with Daniele Bonera and Milan Futuro, expected to play a key role for the team in Serie C.
