Biasin stresses that Zirkzee is Milan’s ‘Plan A’ despite Lukaku links

By Euan Burns -

Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin has stressed that Joshua Zirkzee is the primary target for AC Milan this summer even though there are so many links to Romelu Lukaku.

Speaking during Tutti Convocati on Radio 24 (via Milan News), Biasin explained the situation concerning Milan and their hunt to replace Olivier Giroud.

It has been clear for a long time that Zirkzee is the player Milan want but with the agent’s commissions causing a problem and the increased reported interest in Lukaku, some have wondered whether Milan are giving up on Zirkzee.

According to Biasin, the links to Lukaku are coming more from the player’s side, rather than from Milan themselves.

“Lukaku-Milan rumours? I think it’s more a need for Lukaku and his entourage to find a solution, rather than an interest from AC Milan whose Plan A we know is Zirkzee,” Biasin said.

Chelsea want to sell Lukaku permanently this summer after two loan spells away from the club. The player himself knows there is no future at Chelsea and he has been keen on signing for another Italian club, a country he clearly likes living in.

It is thought that Chelsea would want around €40m for the Belgian and then he is likely to demand €7.5m per season in wages, which would make him one of the highest earners in the team.

  1. Lukaku on a permanent deal offers no value, that’s Chelsea’s problem. They’ve made the bed, they’ll have to lie in it until they pay someone else to.

  2. He request 7,5m euro nett salary that will be make him highest pay player in ACM if deal done. Skip. Not worth for 30 years ++ player

  3. Lukaku to Milan would be the best good thing to ever happen to us in recent years after Ibrahimovic.
Strongest complete Classic number 9 for €30m and still 31y.
What a Time to be A Rossonneri if this deal pulls through. ( With Lukaku 99% of our profligacy up front is settled)
