It has been a tough start to the season for Santiago Gimenez and the stats prove it as well, with quite a few big chances missed so far.
Gimenez got the chance from start against Udinese last night, hoping to make up for some big misses against Bologna, but instead he ended up missing another good chance. As such, he got a poor rating in our player ratings, as well as from the newspapers.

Max Allegri has always been very supportive of the Mexican and he’s right in saying that Milan get a lot of hard work from the No.7. However, the missed chances are becoming a problem for the Rossoneri, that much is clear.
Numbers don’t lie
According to Opta, which collects data for ‘big chances’ missed in Serie A, Gimenez is at the top of the negative list with 7 (!) big chances missed in just four games. This is obviously not good enough for a striker and he knows it himself.

To give even more perspective, Marcus Thuram is second on the list but he has ‘only’ missed 3 big chances, which is less than half of Gimenez. We can only hope that the Milan man will turn things around and find what would be a crucial goal.

Gimenez is not helping his cause. Tare is likely sitting there planning his replacement for January.

The obvious thing is that he is not cut for this and the sooner he’s gone the better for everyone involved. Full stop

Well the way he got those chances means he did everything right except scoring…
Hopefully he will get those goals soon
Anyway, 7 goals in 4 league matches plus those 7 big chances missed (for Santi only) means we did create decent amount of chances. With only 2 goals conceded so far we are on the right tracks.
