AC Milan are still in the running to land Borussia Dortmund playmaker Mario Gotze who has rejected two rivals, a report claims.
According to the latest from Bild, there are three clubs in the running to sign Gotze in the upcoming transfer window, namely Milan, Lazio and Roma.
Gotze changed his team of consultants a few weeks ago and now has Reza Fazeli as his agent, and he has been tasked with finding the 27-year-old a new club abroad.
However, the German outlet reports that Roma cannot afford the current salary of the former Bayern Munich man so he would have to take a huge cut, while they believe there is nothing concrete in the Lazio link at the moment.
The only certainty for Gotze is that he will leave at the end of the season as his contract expires, and with their two Serie A rivals seemingly ruled out of the running for now, Milan may have a chance to fix their playmaker problem.
