AC Milan continue to be linked with a number of different names for the centre-forward position and the latest name is Niclas Füllkrug.
According to what is being reported by German outlet Bild (via PianetaMilan), Milan have taken an interest in signing Füllkrug from Werder Bremen in the last few days of the summer transfer window.
At 30 years of age the Germany international is more on the experienced side, but last season he scored 16 goals and added six assists for Werder Bremen, earning him links with a move to a more ambitious club.
He has a contract with Bremen which is valid until June 2025 and a market value of €13m according to Transfermarkt, but there is no price tag mentioned in the report.
At the beginning of the 2022–23 Bundesliga season, he scored 10 goals in 14 matches which was enough to convince Hansi Flick to call him up for the German national team squad for the World Cup in November.
A bit of a late bloomer, but I think we can do better.

I think he could be decent for a short term replacement, but I don’t think our new management will go for a player like him. Remember, he scored 16 goals for a team like Werder. But yeah, it looks like another fake article to me.

Seems we are now reaching for the bottom of the barrel in our search for a #9….weird. We spend 80M + on midfielders and zero thus far on a #9 – very concerning – and the players we are currently being linked to doesn’t inspire confidence as of now. One injury to Giroud for just plain fatigue (at 37 yrs of age) and we are in some trouble. Not sure I understand leaving arguably the most important position on the pitch to the last week of the season. Huge gamble. Wahi was there for 35M as were many others – now seems we are left with stop-gap players. If that is the case and we don’t want to spend big $$ cause we blew it all on midfielders – then just go for Zapata (if he hasn’t already signed for Roma) who at least can still play, knows the league, is still physical and would fit in if/when Giroud goes down or needs rest and is available for a smaller (10M) fee.
