AC Milan owner Gerry Cardinale, through his company RedBird, is considering selling his stake in the French football club FC Toulouse, a reliable outlet claims.
FC Toulouse was the first football club that RedBird took control of, acquiring an 85% stake in the summer of 2020. Under the American’s ownership, they earned promotion to Ligue 1 in 2021-22 and also won the French Cup last season.
According to Bloomberg, the Milan owner is now considering selling his majority stake in Toulouse, with the cause unknown. A RedBird spokesperson refused to comment on the matter and as added by the report, the sale is not a certainty.
We will have to wait and see if Cardinale wants to focus solely on Milan, having already achieved great success with Toulouse since his purchase. Of course, there are a lot more opportunities with a club like the Rossoneri, who have a fantastic brand worldwide.
On our Substack, we analysed the balance sheet of 2022-23 as Milan registered a profit of €6m. The most impressive thing is that this doesn’t include the sale of Sandro Tonali, who left in the current financial year.
