Blow for Spurs as agent of Strasbourg star winks at the Rossoneri: “Milan are Milan”

By Oliver Fisher -

The agent of Strasbourg defender Mohamed Simakan has seemingly expressed his client’s interest to try an adventure in Italy with AC Milan.

It was reported by MilanNews over the weekend that Milan have set their sights on Simakan, a 19-year-old who plays for Strasbourg, with contacts held between Milan and the player’s entourage.

On Monday, RMC Sport reported that Milan made an attempt to sign Simakan in January and were unsuccessful, but the idea is to return to negotiating table with an offer of €15million.

Strasbourg are hoping they can trigger an auction though because there are a number of clubs interesting in signing him, such as RB Leipzig, Eintracht Frankfurt, Borussia Dortmund, Everton and Southampton – but Spurs are the main competition.

Now, Simakan’s agent Badou Sambagué has spoken to the microphones of calciomercato.it about the future of the 20-year old.

“There are many clubs interested since last winter: French teams, Italian, German, English and Spanish. But Mohamed is not in a hurry, he knows that he must always take one step at a time in an intelligent way,” he said.

When asked about Milan’s reported €15m offer, he replied: “I am not sure of the conditions under which Strasbourg is willing to sell because they believe in him a lot and therefore it will not be easy get them to sell.

“Favourite league? The project is more important than the country: it can be Serie A, in the Bundesliga or in the Premier League. We know that when you are a central defender, Italy is one of the best schools for a footballer. And then Milan are Milan and Maldini is Maldini. Two big names.”
