Zvonimir Boban is not entirely convinced by the business that AC Milan did during the most recent summer window.
Milan decided to invest around €150m on three players this summer: Goncalo Ramos from PSG, Mario Gila from Lazio and Diego Moreira from Strasbourg. With a new head coach at the helm in Ruben Amorim, it adds pressure for there to be a fairly quick turnaround.

There are multiple competitions to juggle this season, too. Whereas last year the Rossoneri had no Europe, Amorim’s intense style will be put under the microscope in the Europa League, with a return to playing twice a week often.
Since his turbulent departure in January 2020, Boban has never really had kind words to say about his former club, especially since Paolo Maldini was relieved of his duties as technical director. Today, an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport has kept this trend going.
What about AC Milan?
“Milan haven’t done things like AC Milan for years, in any sense. I don’t see any progress, except for their courage and desire to play attacking football. Last year they lost to Cagliari because they’d played defensive football all season: when the time was right, they couldn’t dominate the game.
“Ramos cost a disproportionate price, but he moves well for goals and has a good eye for goal, but we’re far from the quality that changes the game. Instead, I was moved by Cisse’s story, a kid who rose from nothing thanks to talent.”

Was the 41-year-old Luka Modric right to continue?
“Luka Modric has genius, and genius doesn’t fade with age: with his logic, he anticipates situations. Of course, these are life choices. I think it will be tough for him to play in Amorim’s system.
“Under Allegri, he was defended by two midfielders and played deep, now he’ll have to cover 60 meters with another player. It will be tough.”
On Maldini and Italy…
“Guardiola has the utmost respect for Paolo Maldini. The fact that he couldn’t bear the pain of returning to the pitch every day says a lot. We’re talking about a coach who has given so much to football.
“I don’t know who made the mistake; it depends on the agreements and who broke them, but that certainly wasn’t Paolo.”

I think things are changing
Milan increased cost of team through bigger ammortisation. All loaned players are under ownership of Ac Milan. Wage structure is the same. With difference that players like Ramos, Modric, Rabiot, Gila, Nkunku are now on higher gross value – no growth decree.
So that means Milan investing more money into players.
What club needs is result – finally players who are going to give more in game plays so ownership can invest more money.
There is difference of only 2 or 3 years in a row playing uefa champions league before much stronger team can be formed.
Haha Bobby bobby bobby… you were a failure and could not take orders from your boss.. where are you now little bobby? Forgotten just like all your failed signings… bye littlw Bobby.
How was he a failure, are you nu*s?
Don’t get triggered by trolls.
The fail that kept Pioli in his position and lead to a Scudetto? 😂😂😂 Or Ibrahimovic and Kjaer arrivals prior to that? That contributed to the same result.
So he was a failure because he isn’t a coward? Says a lot about you. 😳
Pepe bends over when his boss tells him to.
What a terrible and ill-informed take. You sound like a child.
Nije ni počelo prvenstvo a več kritike ! Boban mi je drag ali Milan još draži ! Realno je pričekati 10 kola pa onda argumentirano govorit !!
He’s right about Modric. Imagine us playing in 4-3-3 or even 3-5-2 formation with Fofana/Musah and Rabiot on each of LM’s sides…
We should always play a version of 4-3-3 and yes, that would absolutely benefit Modric. Unfortunately, I don’t think Amorim can see what is obvious to everyone else.
He won’t even be able to back away from 3-4-2-1 and switch to 3-4-3 (which is kind of his alternative formation, isn’t it) if things start to go bad, that’s how rigid he is.
Rigid is the right term. He switched to 4 at the back about 2 games before he was fired at Man Utd. Before that, refused to change, even though everyone could see it was wrong.
Rigid, stubborn, short-sighted, insular, you name it.
You act like a know-it-all, as if you were a professional coach. Just let Amorim do his job; you’re just a spectator, not a licensed coach like him, you idiot
People criticize when Milan don’t spend enough and they criticize when Milan spend too much.
People criticize when Milan buy lots of players for lower fees per player and they criticize when Milan buy fewer players at higher fees per player.
Talk is cheap. Results matter. Let’s see how it goes.
People as in millions of Milan fans? Yes, they don’t all agree so whichever move is made someone is complaining
Does Ramos worth 80m?
Enough talk.
Let’s play ball!
…Or watch it
