Zvonimir Boban does not even want to consider the idea of Sandro Tonali joining Inter, even if Paolo Di Canio believes it would be an ideal move.
Tonali’s sale to Newcastle United in the summer of 2023 is still very painful for many Milan fans as they saw a boyhood fan of the club depart. His adventure in England didn’t start in an ideal way with his suspension due to betting activity, but he returned at the end of August.
The Italian was part of a team that won Newcastle’s first trophy in decades, beating Liverpool to lift the Carabao Cup. There continues to be speculation about a potential return to Milan though, which is likely to persist.
As Calciomercato.com recall, Boban and Di Canio were both pundits on Sky for the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final clash between Bayern Munich and Inter. The latter claimed that Tonali wants to leave Newcastle in the summer and return to Italy.
Di Canio added that he ‘is the ideal player’ for Inter and their three-man midfield. Boban’s response was strong: “No no, stop it immediately, it is a very painful discussion. I don’t think so anyway. Marotta was clear, the philosophy has changed, Inter is becoming like Milan in management.”
We should start a petition to get enough votes for us to get Tonali back. With him an Reijnders plus a solid DM in the midfield we should be a force to be reckon with. Another great CB or 2 and hopefully a right- and leftback. Maybe a winger or two extra so we need about 6 player to transform our team.
Basically, what you are saying is like building a whole new team lol. Milan just needs stability, imo! Of course, what you are suggesting are icy on the cake if these deals can be done
Inter will only buy if they sell. Last season Oaktree only took over the club but did not want to make sudden changes to already established hierarchy and program. This summer, they’ll get the taste of hell that American ownership, especially an investment fund, bring.
But at least they have relevant people hired like Marotta and legends who understand the environment like Zanetti. Not like us who are run by a bunch of MBA frauds with narcissistic disorder and overblown egos, drunk with power and trying to overtake one another.
I think they’ll sell Thuram for like 70 millions and bring in Jonathan David on free. Maybe even snap Jovic from us as we are too d*mb to use him properly.
Sorry ..but all this speculation is just that ..
Tonali at this moment in time is going nowhere ..he is very happy at Newcastle despite what you want to believe 😊
Beside which you can’t afford him..he’s now valued in the £100m bracket..so all this nonsense being spouted that you could buy him for less than we paid is laughable .
The only comment with sense
Or you know, we can wait ‘till 2027/2028. We’ve seen him doing unordinary thing to join Milan like accepting pay cuts. Or rejecting Man Utd and Barcelona to fulfill his dream to join Milan.
