Luka Modric has turned down an appeal from his idol Zvonimir Boban to join Dinamo Zagreb, according to a report.
Multiple reports claimed last night that Modric is very close to signing with Milan. Things moved quickly after the news of interest first broke on Monday night, and he should soon sign a one-year deal with the club he grew up supporting.

Boban’s failed attempt
As reported by 24sata.hr (via MilanNews), a Croatian news site, Dinamo Zagreb fans dreamed of being able to embrace Modric again in the final stage of his career, given that he will leave Real Madrid at the end of the Club World Cup.
An attempt was made, and the one who took the initiative was Boban, who of course played at Milan and worked there as a director. He is Modric’s declared childhood idol and today Boban works for Dinamo as the president.

He wanted to give a gift to the fans, contacting Modric about the idea of retiring with the club where it all started. However, the 39-year-old refused the offer, stressing that he would like to continue playing at a high level, at least until 2026 when the World Cup will be held in the United States.
For this reason, Modric declined Boban’s invitation and accepted the offer from Igli Tare and Milan. The new sporting director strongly wants him at Milan where, even without European competition, he will have the opportunity to play regularly at a good level without wearing out.

He wants to play in 2026 WC and where better to continue for a year than in a top competitive league and globally recognised club. Nothing really to compete about. He’ll go to his boyhood club next year and finish there, I’m sure of it.
That also means that Modric is not coming to Milan to play a substitute role either. He will be a starter despite many fans believing that he will play a substitute role to bring “leadership “ to the dressing room which pure nonsense.
Modric is Reinjders replacement.
Boban should go sign his true love Angel Correa, literally travelled to Madrid weekly to see him and almost made Milan spend 60m on a dud player who never even scored 10 goals in a season
I recall that crazy story.
Weird if you ask me
Yah? Not sure Boban has really and cred beyond his play days
He just rode on Maldinis successes
If igli tare and allegri are able to come up with this STUPID AND SENSELESS idea to bring modric to milan, then the calvary of milan and of its fans will deepen even further in the next season.
Were the morata and walker episodes not enough? What can milan possibly gain by recruiting pensioners? Do they intend to slow the game even further?
You’re ignorant bro….calling a high performing player like Modric a pensioner ??
Modric is the best replacement for reinjders
