Boban ‘rushes’ Giampaolo to turn Milan around – report

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan director Zvonomir Boban has ‘rushed’ head coach Marco Giampaolo to get things back on track, a report claims.

The Rossoneri have had a bumpy start to the season under Giampaolo’s tenure, losing two of their opening four games and scoring just once from open play in the process.

Saturday’s 2-0 Derby della Madonnina defeat to Inter was particularly damaging as the team failed to capitalise on back-to-back wins, amassing just one shot on target all night.

On Monday evening, Boban spoke to ANSA regarding the derby defeat, expressing his frustration.

“We are very disappointed, because we have been defeated,” he said.

“Still, we’ll do better and we’re confident. We’ll do everything we can because the team must play like the fans and us all expect, and like the Coach expects too.

“We’re a work in progress: but it’s better that we do it as quickly as possible.”

According to a report from Tuttosport – as cited by MilanNews – the club’s hierarchy needs to see an improvement immediately, starting from tomorrow’s match at Torino

The Rossoneri leadership are not happy with the start of Milan’s season, in particular with the style of play, as the former Samp boss was chosen precisely because of his ability to make his teams execute a game plan well.

More courage, more character and a faster game are needed, and all eyes now turn to Turin.
