Samuele Ricci continues to be one of the AC Milan players that is being most speculated about regarding a potential exit.
Ricci signed 12 months ago from Torino and was expected to slot into Massimiliano Allegri’s three-man midfield, given his versatility, his experience within the league and his leadership having been captain of the Granata.

For various reasons, that didn’t really end up happening. He racked up over 30 appearances in all competitions, but the presence of Adrien Rabiot and Luka Modric closed two doors, while Youssouf Fofana was preferred more as the right mezzala.
Ricci exit talk keeps rumbling
Earlier this week, reports emerged suggesting that Ricci’s agents are at work exploring potential exit routes, with Juventus and Atalanta having been in discussions. Meanwhile, Carlo Pellegatti even named the Italian as one of the two players Ruben Amorim has been ‘disappointed’ by.
According to Nicolo Schira, Ricci could indeed ‘leave Milan this summer’. He adds that Atalanta and Bologna have shown interest in the former Torino man, who is ‘no longer central in Milan’s plans’ for the coming season and beyond.
Ricci signed a contract with Milan until 2029 last summer having arrived for a fee believed to be in the region of €23m, so it seems likely the directors would look to make their money back. Then, a new midfielder could arrive, like the ‘bargain’ option of PierreEmile Hojbjerg.

He was never central to Milan’s plan. He had the opportunity last season, but Allegri chose Fofana over him, over and over again.
Jashari was injured for half the season, and he still didn’t capitalize. I would like to keep him because he is Italian, and overall he’s not a bad player, but at most he will be a rotation player at a team like Milan.

17 of the 17 spots are occupied, meaning some transfers are needed.
Odogu is currently a question mark for several reasons. The first is because it remains to be seen whether he will remain at Milan or go on loan. Honestly if I was a glory supporter I’d have quit Milan when they finished 11th in 96/97 or 10th in 14/15 but I’d give anything to go back to those days.
I also would’ve supported Allegri staying on after they finished 5th to keep the core of players together.
But this constant changing, this lack of identity or connection to the club or the place is not a football club.
It’s an empty brand.

I am 15 seasons in and all great teams go through tough periods. This team has only found consistency when a manager is given time. Since Pioli we haven’t had that.
Plus last year our two best players fell off a cliff. That was probably all due to the style the coach wanted to play.
Kinda feels like they may be making room for Comotto who just sign a 5 year deal. Maybe it’s not so crazy…
His performance was not sensational last season, but equally was not bad either. I’d say it was acceptable performance for a first season in a new team, at least for the matches I watched. Allegri did not give him too much time either even when Modric was clearly exhausted in the late part of the season. I just think the football is turning madly impatient to coaches and players. If you spent €23m and made all the effort to lure a Capitan of Torino to Milan, you must have more data to drive your confidence of the player right. So why not give him another season to prove himself? Madness!
