Genoa coach Alberto Gilardino has spoken with pride about the time he spent as a player with AC Milan ahead of tonight’s match.
Speaking during his press conference ahead of the Serie A clash (via Milan News), the former striker explained that he counts himself as lucky to have represented Milan for three years.
Gilardino played an incredible 132 times for the Rossoneri in a career that saw him represent many clubs. He scored 44 goals for the club and also got 19 assists.
He was a part of the 2006/07 squad which won the Champions League and he then helped the club win the Club World Cup and the Super Cup in the following season. He was also a World Cup winner with Italy.
He is now the Genoa coach and he believes that the players he was with at Milan taught him a lot which helped him in his career.
“I was lucky to spend those three years and to spend them with champions. Within the team most of the players were champions, not only on a technical and tactical level, but also on a human level. They taught me a lot. They taught me the experience of maturing, evaluating many situations and also winning a lot,” Gilardino said.
