It is no secret that AC Milan want to sign a striker this summer, and a new name has been added to the shortlist, it seems, this morning.
There can be no denying that Milan have struggled up front this season. Whilst they have got two of the biggest forward stars in Europe, they are not scoring at a rate which the Rossoneri can rely upon. So, Massimiliano Allegri wants guaranteed goals.

This is not a new request, though. In fact, since he joined, perhaps before then, he has wanted the Diavolo to sign a top-level striker, and it seems more likely as we grow closer to the summer, with no more experiments expected.
A new name
This hunt for a striker has now led the club to Bologna, where a track towards Santiago Castro could be studied. Milan have been big admirers of the Argentine for some time, and his situation will be monitored over the next few weeks, as Sky reports (via Calciomercato.com).
It is not an impossible goal, either. The report suggests that he would be open to leaving the Rossoblu to explore a new chapter, and Serie A clubs could take note of this information, not just the Diavolo.
Juventus, it seems, would be the biggest threat, and with no clarification on Milan’s parameters, they could get an advantage.
Castro would be perfect!
He certainly provides a different profile that we could give a look in. Hard working, very aggressive, does not guarantee 15plus goals per season but with the right kind of support he might get there. Also he gives more guarantees physically then Kean ( injury prone) For his work rate alone he is an option as an impact player rather than our point of reference.

Santiago Castro would be a good 2nd striker. But we still need a striker who is more of a target striker who can score double digit goals per season.
If Milan can’t get Retegui then the should try for Darwin Nunez who in my opinion had a bad experience in Liverpool but he is still a good target striker. Shevchenko had a bad experience at Chelsea so it doesn’t mean Nunez is a flop.
Darwin Nunez press a lot and he is always find good spaces in behind defenders.

They rarely do if you look closer, both prefer to cut inside and receive the ball on foot then progress with the ball. Neither of them work the space much. Its one of our main problems, even Sales who is suppose to provide width prefer to cut inside. Years before we had the exact same problem just on the other side with Theo cutting inside. Sure it gives them a opportunity to score but there will be fewer crosses in to the box and harder to stretch/open teams who sit deep.
