Daniele Bonera has continued preparing for his work as the AC Milan U23 coach by attending another Serie C playoff match, this time taking in Vicenza vs Padova.
As reported by Milan News, Bonera has been a regular at the various Serie C playoff matches this season as that is the level that the Milan U23 side will enter as long as all goes to plan this summer.
It is not yet certain that there will be a place in one of the three Serie C leagues for Milan but the club are working on the basis that a spot will open up during the summer before the 2024/25 season begins.
Bonera was spotted at Vicenza 1-1 Padova and he has previously been seen at other playoffs as various sides battle to get into Serie B.
The former Milan defender has spoken in the past about the pride he would feel about being a Milan coach, even if this venture would be with a new youth team.
“Coaching Milan is everyone’s dream, but I think there’s quite a waiting list and I have to get in line,” Bonera told the paper three years ago.
“Now, thanks also to Pioli, I have a degree of preparation to be able to manage situations not only on the pitch, but also in the locker room. If a call came I would evaluate it.”
A U-23 Side could be critical for youth development, where we can promote certain Primavera players. It could allow us to develop young players better and actually retain the ones that could make it big.
