Victor Boniface appears to have expressed doubts about AC Milan’s decision not to sign him after the results of his medical.
Milan were on the verge of signing Boniface a couple of weeks ago on what would have been an initial loan with an option to buy. However, when he began his medical some concerns arose that meant the club wanted further opinion, and eventually the deal was called off.

However, the Nigerian did get his move in the end, joining Werder Bremen on a season-long dry loan. Obviously this begs the question: why was he deemed good enough to pass one medical, but not the one the Rossoneri did? Only those at the heart of the operation truly know what happened.
Boniface was officially unveiled as a new Werder Bremer player on Wednesday after his late move there, and he was asked about why he didn’t end up joining Milan. TMW relayed his comments.
Why Werder Bremen?
“I’ve always loved the Bundesliga and I wanted to stay in Germany, so it was easy to say yes.”
How is your fitness?
“If I wasn’t 100%, I’d be in the hospital and wouldn’t be able to speak here today.”
But what about the failed move to Milan?
“It wasn’t my fault; they decided not to pursue it. I have a strong mentality: it happens, it’s okay, I’ll move on.”

Still love u bro…painful u didnt come to my beloved club but I wish u all the best bro. May u succeed in all your endeavours.
it was issues with his old injuries. Milan heard opinion of doctor/professor, one of the best specialist in this branch. so what can we say…
.
however, I belive that he could be better than Nkunku… let’s see what he will do in Werder Brema.
So if it wasn’t your fault. So the medical took the blame didn’t they. We almost had completed world class Striker dan CB with Bonifat and Akanjee as Coach Allergic asked for.
Bonifat? Lmao. He didn’t pass the medical and this happened with another team he tried signing for in the past. Even I admit I was wrong on his fitness. I would have looked the other way and signed him if I was in charge, but it would have been big money.
But he passed Werder Bremen medicals.. Our medical team were compromised…..
Or maybe Bremen’s medicals were organized by the club’s janitor and chefs?
They forwarded him to an independent specialist.
Bremen looked the other way because they got a highly favorable loan.
I wanted him at Milan, but I nonetheless wish him the best.
I believe it was simply a situation where two people in Milan disagreed. Maybe Tare and Allegri. At the end of the day, Tare realized if the Boniface got injured it would be on him. So they cooked up the story about failed medical. It’s nothing new.
Nice cooked story here. Wowo
Seems like BL were willing to accept pretty much anything to move him along. I think Tare could’ve used that as negotiation.
Do the same deal as Werder but also still take Nkunku. You have the actual Giroud type Allegri requested, plus more depth and you can play him less minutes to keep him healthy.
Wasn’t gonna cost too much more. Maybe worth a gamble at those terms.
Italy are not only behind in the football, but also the medical care for athletes. Think about it. Erikssen cannot play in Italy because of a heart condition, and yet in England he has been playing at top level for the last 4 to 5 seasons now since his incident.
Boniface can play with no problems in Germany, but for some reason Italians take one look at those knees of his and say “We can’t risk it”.
What does that tell you? That both England and Germany have confidence that their medical technology can fix/support whatever ailments these athletes have, but Italy cannot because it’s too big of a risk?
Just how far behind is Italy and their medical expertise?
Good points Ryan.
To counter, Italy have the most advanced medicals in professional football. That’s why players’ cardiovascular issues are often only diagnosed in Italy’s professional leagues and handled very discreetly without making a big deal due to the sensitivity of the situation and player. It’s widely known that they are at the pinnacle of in dept medicals. Easier to fail than pass.
Boniface’s 2…yes 2 ACL injuries to the same knee and lack of playing time over several seasons were always going to raise eyebrows. ACM conducted their due diligence as they should, and made no untoward comments or replies to Boniface’s 3 statements. This is how some medicals go sadly.
I liked him and hoped he passed it and feel for him. I wish him the best.
But they let Injured origi to pass. And also nkunku can have a go.
Auntie, shut up abeg. What’s this nonsense about Nkunku abi eh run you street? That it didn’t work for him in Chelsea doesn’t him a bad player or injury prone all of a sudden.
why are you saying things that you don’t know of He’s better than Boniface when it comes to injury
haha true! Geeze he cut us deep and still…
Was good at LFC though-what a sudden drop. Let’s not discuss him to avoid ruining my day 🙂
Milam dis it to aly cissokho. And guess what? He play normally after that
“How is your fitness?
“If I wasn’t 100%, I’d be in the hospital and wouldn’t be able to speak here today.””
LOL!!!! How fng dumb is he? Do you need to be hospitalized if you’re only at 99%? Or are there only two options: 0% or 100% with nothing in between?
