Bonucci cites ‘anger’ among reasons for joining Milan and picks Scudetto favourite

By Oliver Fisher -

Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci had his say on the Scudetto race, also giving a few words on his past spell at Milan.

Bonucci is one of the few players in history to have represented three of Serie A’s top clubs – Inter, Juventus and Milan – but his one year stint with the Rossoneri in the 2017-18 season is something the veteran defender has previously called a ‘mistake’.

Then-manager Vincenzo Montella greatly admired the centre-back’s capabilities and signed him for €42m on a five-year contract from rivals Juventus, as per Wikipedia, but it never really worked out and he ended up back in Turin.

Bonucci spoke during a longer interview with DAZN about who he believes are the favourite to go on and win the title this season, with his comments relayed by SempreMilan.it.

“Looking at the matches that are remaining, Inter seem to be favourites because they have more affordable matches. It is exciting to live this title fight even if it is a pity not to be there because a few more points would have been enough. But as football fans it’s nice, we cheer for a great season until the very end,” he said.

On the move to Milan, he added: “As everyone already knows, Juventus comes first for me. To leave that year was a choice dictated by moments of disappointment, anger and frustration, which however have been deleted. You learn from mistakes and today I am happy to be an example for the youngest, and I hope to continue to be so, at least for the next two years.”

  1. He does not deserve an answer nor to wear the rossoneri shirt.
    Spy for Inter and juve.Stupid

  2. Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci is garbage, he can only play in the Juventus system, he looked very ordinary at Milan, i guess that’s why no other team never went to trade for him.
