Boost for Milan in Milinkovic-Savic pursuit as Lazio director confirms he ‘could be sold’

By Oliver Fisher -

A boost has arrived in AC Milan’s reported pursuit of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic as Lazio director Igli Tare has admitted that he could be sold.

Speaking to the microphones of Sky, Tare was asked about the future of Milinkovic-Savic ahead of next season given that there continues to be speculation that he will leave the capital in the summer.

“For the good of everyone, we will sit around a table and clarify this. What I say for me is also valid for him, he has a strong bond with Lazio, he admires and respects the club and coach. Anything can happen, including that he could be sold to another club,” he said.

Today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via SempreMilan.it) reported that Stefano Pioli has identified Milinkovic-Savic as the ideal man for the role of attacking midfielder in his 4-2-3-1 system given his quality but also his physicality.

The Serbia international’s contract is expiring in a year and though their president Claudio Lotito is tough to negotiate with, it is possible that he could let him leave for the €25-30m that Milan could well offer.

      1. Lol what? 😅 They’re both central midfielders that can play the role of CAMs. Lazio play with with both of them in more attacking roles due to their formation allowing it.

  1. savic would be a dream transfer for me and if there actually is a chance of lazio selling hiim for 25-30 mil id say go for it.

  2. Involve Origi, Messias and Balo-Toure in a deal if possible.

But we need to sign him ASAP, beofre Inter, Juve or Napoli gets him!
