CorSera: Lille have twice rejected Milan’s advances for €40m man but Maldini won’t give up

AC Milan are not taking no for an answer from Lille in their pursuit of Sven Botman and they are expected to go back in for him, a report claims.

According to this morning’s edition of il Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews), Lille have already rejected Milan’s advances for Botman twice but Milan won’t let go of the idea of signing the Dutch defender, with work still underway as the management look to land their No.1 target.

He has always been the favourite to replace the injured Simon but the French club want to resist the Rossoneri’s pressure in the January transfer window, with an asking price of €40m set to try and put off potential suitors.

Gianluca Di Marzio reported last night that Milan have a ‘Plan B’ outlined and that is to secure Botman for the summer, leaving him on loan at Lille for the rest of the season to avoid the competition in six months, in an operation similar to the Yacine Adli one.
