Brahim Diaz reveals thoughts on best formation and is asked about future: “I’m happy here”

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan playmaker Brahim Diaz has insisted that the team feel the most comfortable with the current formation, and thanked the fans for doing their bit in the 1-0 win over Napoli.

Brahim spoke during an interview with Sky Italia after the game to try and analyse what was an intense, open and at times fractious game, and he started by reflecting on the result itself with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

“We are very happy, but there is still one match. We will go there with a positive result, but we haven’t finished the job yet,” he said.

Milan were playing with a three-man defence throughout February but they opted to switch back to playing a 4-2-3-1 for the game against Napoli 10 days ago which resulted in a 4-0 win, and the Spaniard believes it is the best system.

“We’ve always played like this. We feel comfortable with this formation. We have to keep working like this.”

There has been a lot of speculation about Brahim’s future beyond the end of the season given that he is in the second of a two-year loan from Real Madrid and there is talk of a potential permanent stay.

“I’m content and happy, but I’m happier for the team because we deserve this. I’m happy with what I’m doing, but there’s still a lot to do,” he said.

“I’m happy here. I thank the fans for their affection, they made the difference today too. We can get anywhere with them and they with us.”
