Brahim Diaz reflects after decisive performance: “I give everything for this team and these fans”

AC Milan playmaker Brahim Diaz has pledged to ‘give everything’ for the team after his fantastic display during the 4-2 win against Udinese this evening.

Milan made life difficult for themselves on Saturday night at San Siro as they trailed inside a few minutes due to Rodrigo Becao’s header from a corner, took a 2-1 lead and then conceded again just before the break after Adam Masina’s header.

Nonetheless, Brahim restored the advantage with a close range finish and Ante Rebic put the game beyond doubt not too long after to ensure the perfect start to a season in which the objective has to be a title defence.

Brahim Diaz spoke to DAZN at the end of the game to reflect on the win, the performance of the team and his display in particular, which was a welcome boost after some struggles towards the end of last season. His comments were transcribed by MilanNews, and have been translated below.

On new signings: “It’s always nice to have strong players. I’m happy that he helped us. We are a team, we do everything as a team.”

On the goal: “I give everything for this team and these fans. I am calm, I am aware of my qualities. It’s always nice to score at San Siro, but it’s even better to win the game.”

On the objectives: “We are a strong team, we won the Scudetto. This year we want to win, let’s continue match by match. Let’s see what we can do together.”

On the predictions and the other teams fighting for the title: “We are interested in what we do, not what the other teams do.”

  1. Last season at the start of the season Diaz played well for 5 or 6 games and then he go missing until the end of the season so one game does not is going to be different this season but this time i can rest at ease because we have Adli and CDK in the team!

    1. I agree but at the same time this season could be different for Diaz as long as he doesn’t get injured, I think last season getting COVID ruined his momentum and dropped his confidence

    2. He’s also still a young player, consistency can take time to develop as his decision making gets better – what a great thing for the team if he does.

People clamouring for Adli like he’s ever put in a consistent season at a top level… great to have both options for the team.

  2. I was very down and negative about Diaz last season with so much weakness and he was knocked down by opponents so easily so often; BUT for this season, he has shown up much stronger and more muscular. He has definitely worked with weights and adding muscle in the summer offseason and I’m so happy that he had a very good match today!

  3. Despite making an assist and goal, still, it was a mess for 10 position. He just need someone helping him in amf, adli, tonali, or cdk i guess, if he need to play.
