Diaz praises Pioli’s coaching and tactics: “It’s great to be in this team because I can play my game”

Brahim Diaz has praised Stefano Pioli for his coaching methods, explaining what he has learnt under the head coach and how it allows him to play his game.

Diaz headed to Milan on loan from Real Madrid in 2020 and has become a key player under Pioli, as the Rossoneri challenge for the Scudetto.

While many feel there is still more to be seen from the Spaniard, he has progressed since arriving in Milan and spoken brightly about his time so far at Dubai 2020 Expo (via Gazzetta dello Sport): “It’s amazing to see how they love Milan all over the world, I’m happy to be here”.

Discussing Pioli’s influence, the 22-year-old discussed their focus on his defensive duties: “[He] helps me on the defence, tells me to press harder.”

Diaz also drew on his playing experiences in England and Spain, comparing them to being in Serie A, describing the Italian top flight as ‘very difficult’ before going into detail about Pioli’s approach: “He prioritises tactics in some games, intensity for others.”

With another year to go on his current two-year loan, Diaz still has time to improve further.
