Tuttosport: Brahim Diaz shows again why Milan want to keep him

By Oliver Fisher -

Brahim Diaz put in yet another excellent performance last night to guide AC Milan to a victory over Napoli in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final, showing why the club want to keep him.

Today’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanNews) writes how Brahim’s performances over his three seasons on loan so far have fluctuated, yet he once again demonstrated his abilities on the right wing last night.

The Spaniard is now establishing himself as the man to open matches up, as he netted the only goal of the tie against Spurs and caused real issues for Napoli’s defence at the Maradona 10 days ago.

Last night, he took Milan by the hand again last night and led them in the attacking phase, producing a brilliant turn and run for the opening and only goal in the match scored by Ismael Bennacer in the first half.

However, the paper adds that Diaz’s future still hangs in the balance. The player wants to stay at Milan in recent weeks and is doing everything to convince Maldini and Massara, who are in turn hoping to agree a deal worth €18-20m with Real Madrid.

Talks about the situation have already started as there was a meeting at Casa Milan with Edoardo Crnjar – the intermediary in the negotiation – a few days ago. In the meantime, Diaz speaks on the pitch but also immediately after as he confirmed he is happy at the club.

  1. He got bullied on the ball earlier on but regrouped well. But most of our players were under pressure too. Napoli ran out of steam early
