GdS: Brahim Diaz shows his value again – Real Madrid’s plan and what the future holds

Brahim Diaz was among the best performers on the field last night as AC Milan beat Napoli 4-0 at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

La Gazzetta dello Sport recall how Brahim got an assist for Leao’s first goal in two and a half months, then showed incredible close control to add his own goal and make it 2-0 en route to a rout that even the most optimistic fans could not have predicted.

Back on 8 October at San Siro he was perhaps the man of the match in the 2-0 win against Juventus which could ultimately represent one of the biggest results in the race for fourth place, while he settled the tie against Spurs in the Champions League.

But what about the future? Brahim’s two-year loan from Real Madrid will end in June and there is an option to buy set at €22m with a buy-back in favour of the LaLiga side at €26-27m. The Spaniard feels part of the project, he is grateful to the club and the managers and would gladly stay at Milanello to continue his journey.

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara intend to ask the European champions for a discount, while in Spain they are considering bringing Brahim back to base, potentially to sell for a capital gain.

The first answers will arrive between April and May, when Milan – when factoring in the Champions League and the league – will have a more defined plan for the future.
