Following the encounters with Torino, in which they prevailed, Milan are getting ready to take on Cagliari in less than 20 minutes. With a win, the Rossoneri would be crowned the winter champions in Serie A.
Stefano Pioli is battling with several absences and one of the players that will miss the game is Hakan Calhanoglu, who tested positive for COVID. As a result, the Real Madrid loanee Brahim Diaz will get the chance from start once again.
In the game against Torino mid-week, he missed a great chance to win Milan the game within the 90 minutes. Therefore, he will be looking to redeem himself tonight and build on what has been a positive spell as of late.
Diaz was interviewed by MilanTV ahead of tonight’s clash, as cited by MilanNews, and spoke about his improvements since he arrived. He also stated that it will be a ‘complicated game’ and they have to be strong.
On what he has improved…
“I always want to improve day after day. I know that by working you can always grow and you can always do better. I don’t know exactly what I have grown up in since my arrival, but I know that I want to grow further”
On the game…
“We know it’s a complicated game and we know that the opponents are always motivated to face us. They come from some negative results but every game is unique. We have to play well and stay focused and do what we know. Today we want to get the 3 points.”
On the indications of Pioli…
“We have to play with the heart and do what we know how to do because we are very talented.”
