Athletic: Brahim Diaz close to Real Madrid renewal but future remains undecided

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s hopes of signing Brahim Diaz permanent could be impacted by the fact he is set to renew with Real Madrid, a report claims.

According to The Athletic, Brahim Diaz is close to extending his deal with Real Madrid until 2027, which would be two extra years compared to his current contract. Both club and player have reached an agreement in principle, and it should soon be made official.

The Spanish playmaker is currently in his third season on loan  at Milan where he has amassed 105 appearances, scoring 16 goals and providing 10 assists. Despite the imminent renewal, the report states it ‘has yet been fully decided where Diaz will play his football’ next season.

Nonetheless, the Real Madrid management have opted to extend his deal with a pay rise, while Brahim has enjoyed his time in Serie A but his priority ‘has always been to fight for a place at Real Madrid’.

What the LaLiga side choose to do with the future of Marco Asensio could also have an impact on whether Brahim returns to the Spanish capital next season.

  1. He needs to hurry up an leave. Pioli seems to be in love with him and because of it Adli and CDK are taking the back seat. Especially Adli.

    1. Did you watch how CDK and Diaz played against Tottenham?

Did you count how many goals and assist for Diaz and CDK this season?

Ok I’ll give you a little fun fact:

This season CDK already played 24 times in all competitions. His record: 0 goal and 1 assist.

Compare to Diaz who already played 26 times, 2 times more than CDK, in all competitions. His record: 5 goals and 2 assist.

I don’t know why you hated Diaz so much and spread this BS about CDK and Adli taking a back seat because of Diaz. But i’m fvckin glad that you’re not the one who coach Milan.

      1. nah, pioli is picking diaz over better players for a reason only he knows. 5/2 stats in 26 matches is poor showing for an AM. hakan had better stats and Diaz was supposedly his replacment

        1. 5/2 in 26 matches is still better than 0/1 in 24 matches.

And who’s the better player than Diaz right now? Don’t tell me you gonna say CDK and Adli lmao.

          1. We don’t know. For all we know Aster can be better than all of them, Adli too.

We will never know, because Brahim has pics of Pioli cheating on his wife, he got them from Krunic and shared them with Pobega and now they are top of the pecking order for no apparent reason.

          2. and you keep mentioning 24 matches from cdk. Mention the fact 2/3 of that is of the bench while diaz started 19 of those 26.. Cdk started 6 out of 24 and only finished the whole 90min once in the coppa

        2. The 35 million boy couldn’t perform well despite he already played 24 matches. So what do you expect Pioli gonna do, just sit there like a moron and keeps playing CDK or he used other players like Diaz who produces better results than CDK? I’m sure any sane coach will say they will pick Diaz.

Also, are you fvkin new as if you never watch Hakan playing with Milan shirt? The guy losing his breath after playing 45 minutes and got scolded by Ibra. One match he played well and the next four or five matches he played like a headless chicken. Diaz while not perfect but he offers stable performance than Hakan.

          1. you’re clueless. and this is pointless. CDK is better than Diaz in every single way and once he gets the minutes he needs he wil show it and then you will stfu.

      2. How many minutes for each though? Also, how many minutes for Adli?

Not all players are treated equally, and for those left behind to get a chance, one subpar player that never even wanted to play for us needs to leave.

I see nothing wrong with that.

        1. And i see nothing wrong playing Diaz over CDK and Adli based on the RESULTS.

I don’t get your hate for Diaz. It’s like you hate him just because he’s a loan player.

Again, it’s a good thing you’re not the one who coach Milan right now.

          1. thats another problem actually. They play a loaned dude while the dude they paid 35M€ for is sitting on the bench. “he is not ready”.
Thiaw wasnt ready until Tomori got injured, but man, does he look ready to me. If Tomori was healthy he’d never gotten a chance or maybe just a minute here and there.. And im not hating on diaz i just think there are better players out there and Milan is wasting its time on him. objectively like.

        2. If you don’t fvckin know then why you act like you know more than Pioli?

Do you attend every day training and watch over the players like Pioli did?

You already know the answer but here you are acting like a smartass.

          1. Do you know? Unlike you I want to find out. I’m not just gonna follow blindly a mediocre coach that has proven over and over again that he doesn’t know how to work with young players, he doesn’t know how to integrate players and that he plays favorites all the time.

So yeah, I am gonna question every decision, because I want to know. I don’t trust Pioli, I don’t trust Milan nangement. They have proven over and over and over again that they are not to be trusted because A LOT of their decisions were shady, borderline stupid.

        3. @shiva

I asked you first cause you’re the one who act like you know more than Pioli. Now you’re here saying you don’t know but still act like a smartass.

Also lol at you who don’t trust Pioli or the management who already brought Milan back to Champions League and a Scudetto after so many years Milan stuck at the dark age.

This is clearly a you problem, not Pioli or the management. I suggest you should go to Monza fans page if you trust Berlusconi and Galliani that much over Maldini and Masara.

      3. Diaz has been three seasons, and has not shown any progress, he is a very bad replacement for calahnoglu, 5 goals and 2 assists is just a joke for the big name milan, Adli have great potential and Pioli must give the minutes he deserves ,And he’s a milan player, not a madrid player

        1. Pretty sure Diaz showed improvement and progress. Just because he didn’t makes goals after goals or assist at every match doesn’t mean he doesn’t shown any progress.

And you’re talking as if Adli is a Zidane reincarnation really make me laugh.

          1. pretty sure diaz every game shows no progress apart from goals and assists, You yourself mentioned goals and assists, i’m sick of the word zidan reincarnation or the next messi/Ronaldo,Every player has different potential. Diaz has already shown himself to be underdeveloped, which should give someone else a chance.

    2. Who sees them train everyday? If they’re beast in training, there’s no such thing as coach’s preference. Remember when Kaka was underestimated by Carlo? Than Kaka showed in training since day 1 on what he’s capable of and the rest is history. There’s no logical reasoning on why coach will put their reputation in line just because of their personal preferences. It’s not your football manager.

In fact that everytime Charles denext Kaka on the field, what we see is just a soft boy going bad. Adli, well, he’s like Gourcuff in his bad day. And Gourcuff was already a disaster in Milan to get my point.

I sincerely hope they both will find their true self. But in these current days, like it or not, Brahim is the best we have in his position.

  2. This might be slightly off topic but I am just wondering if there are any other *loanee* who has amassed 100 caps+? And considering he’s been loaned out to us for 3 years, this is just strange to me honestly.

  3. If the talk of a renewal is true, then that speaks volumes about where Diaz’s loyalty really lies. Wouldn’t a renewal make life more difficult for Milan in regards of they getting a discount or deal on a purchase?

I like the kid but he’s not worth the trouble. I say that he should be returned after this stint because he’s never really been impactful, except on a handful of occasions during the three seasons he’s been here. And as you can clearly see, his numbers aren’t impressive. The kid’s a winger who Pioli; in all his infinite wisdom, has tried to convert into a playmaker, in an era where the playmaker has become obsolete. Help me make it make sense.
