Brahim Diaz talks ‘sensational’ Milan display but insists: “We are thinking about Cagliari”

By Isak Möller -

Milan are one step closer to a Champions League return after their huge 7-0 win against Torino this evening. Brahim Diaz was one of the best players on the pitch once again, giving Paolo Maldini something to think about.

The Spaniard, who’s on loan at the club from Real Madrid, scored against Juventus last time out and added another goal to his tally this evening. He also bagged an assist and played well in the 63 minutes he got on the pitch.

In an interview with MilanTV after the game, as cited by MilanNews, Diaz spoke about the win and the upcoming games. The Rossoneri will take on Cagliari on Sunday and could secure their spot in the Champions League next season.

On the game…

“Very good result, we played a sensational game and I’m very happy for the team. I think it’s respectful to play until the final whistle. I’m very happy with what we are doing and now we are thinking about Cagliari.”

On his goals…

“I’m very happy for what we are doing, also for what I have done in the last two games. Now let’s not give up and try to win the next game altogether. I’m very happy for everyone.”

Should Atalanta win their game against Genoa on Saturday, then Milan can secure a top-four finish. As long as Juve, Atalanta and Milan don’t finish level on points, the Rossoneri will be back in the Champions League.
